First contract win for SunSystems exfm secured by Foundation

Unique combination of financial, reporting, budgeting and forecasting functionality

25th October 2004: Just one week after its global launch, SunSystems exfm has secured its first customer win.

Regent Exhibitions – organiser of IMEX in Frankfurt, the worldwide exhibition for incentive travel, meetings and events – has purchased SunSystems Extended Financial Management (exfm), a unique, fully integrated software solution that combines the power of financial management and business intelligence. The sale was secured by Foundation Systems Limited, the computer software and services company and leading SunSystems channel partner based in north London.

SunSystems exfm is targeted at mid-market companies worldwide giving them a comprehensive spectrum of sophisticated functionality that was previously available only to large enterprises at a high cost. With SunSystems exfm, organisations will be able to improve the efficiency of their financial processes, analyse financial data in real-time to better understand how the business is performing and alleviate the pain of budgeting and forecasting activities.

Regent Exhibitions has grown rapidly since its foundation in 2001. The Sage Line 100 package it had been using since inception no longer met its needs and accessing financial data had become difficult. With over 70 per cent of Regent invoices in euros, the ability to handle and report in different currencies is important.

Sherry Farmer, head of finance at Regent Exhibitions, said: “Close control of both budgets and forecasts are essential since we are a new company. Our focus on IMEX in Frankfurt means our income is cyclical and therefore controlling cash flow in different currencies is vital. We are very impressed with SunSystems exfm because it has a great deal that will enhance the way that we work.”

One unusual aspect of Regent’s structure is that all finance staff are part-time, including a high proportion of working mothers. Through the web-based access portal that is an integral part of SunSystems exfm, staff can work from home with access to the full accounts system in real time.
